Our Principal, Colin Porter, was admitted to practice as a solicitor in England in 1984 and in New South Wales in 2005

He gained extensive experience at 3 leading London law firms as a senior solicitor at   Slaughter and May and later as a Partner at both Barlow Lyde and Gilbert and Addleshaw Goddard

Colin relocated to Sydney in February 2005 and joined TressCox where he was a Partner

Colin is recognised as a world leader in the legal insurance/reinsurance field, has been repeatedly recommended in Legal 500 and in the Legal Media Guide to the World's Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers since 1998 and was an original author of the widely-acclaimed textbook “Reinsurance Practice and the Law” In Sydney, Colin is closely involved in a number of insurance and reinsurance market groups. Most notably, he was the driver for the resurrection of the highly regarded Reinsurance Discussion Group of New South Wales and is currently Chairman of its Committee
